The Napa Valley Tennis Association was founded in 1967 by a group of local tennis players with an ambitious goal: grow participation in the sport and build a public tennis park for Napa Valley.

After nearly a decade of determination, that vision became a reality in 1976. Funding from a California Recreational Bond, Napa Community Projects, and NVTA helped make the project possible, but the community itself played an equally important role. Hundreds of NVTA members volunteered their time and skills—installing fencing, bringing in plumbing, and helping build the facility from the ground up.

The result was eight courts dedicated to public use, creating a home for tennis that Napa Valley players have enjoyed ever since.

Today, NVTA is a nonprofit, volunteer-led organization responsible for maintaining and improving the courts and creating opportunities for players of all ages and levels to play, compete, learn, and connect. NVTA does not receive ongoing funding from the City of Napa, Napa County, or a parks department to operate or maintain the facility. Membership, donations, sponsorships, and the generosity of our community make this work possible.

NVTA remains true to its roots: community-built, community-supported, and committed to the future of public tennis in Napa Valley.
